Plants do not use all parts of the spectrum
equally. This is because photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll and
carotene absorb light very strongly at particular wavelengths. Using
the right colors in the proper proportions, the performance of LED lighting
can be optimized.
Here is a graph showing how
the spectrum of LEDGrowLightsTM is very close to that of the absorption spectrum of
chlorophyll, a plant's primary energy collecting pigment. Also, the peak of the
spectrum of our red grow lights coincides with the peak of the
photosynthetic response curve. LEDGrowLights produce light that plants can use very
efficiently.
